The “Eye,” a sculpture by Chicago-based artist Tony Tasset, already provides an eye-popping attraction in the sculpture garden across the street from The Joule Hotel on Main Street in downtown Dallas. But in honor of the Dallas Art Fair, which runs today through Sunday in the Dallas Arts District, the “Eye” has gotten its own artsy treatment. The lawn around the sculpture has been filled with surreal additions including solar-powered butterflies, giant mushrooms, lemons, corn cobs, pineapples, and flowers with eyeball centers. Usually closed to the public, the sculpture garden’s gates will be open to the public today through Sunday, April 23. Tickets are $10 for adults, with kids under 12 admitted free. Proceeds benefit the Dallas Art Fair Foundation’s programs for children. “I think this is going to be the most colorful Instagram spread of Dallas history,” Headington Companies CMO Jeny Bania told NBC DFW.
