There are several art fair opportunities to visit in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this spring before the summer heat returns.
In April, temperatures in North Texas reached highs of mid-70s to low 80s, according to the National Weather Service.
Here are art events to visit this April and May.
APRIL ART EVENTS IN DFW
Main Street Arts Festival
- When: April 20-23
- Where: Main Street in downtown Fort Worth
- Cost: Free admission
This year marks the Main Street Arts Festival’s 36th run. The festival will have 200 artist booths filling Main Street along with food and live entertainment.
Fort Worth Art Fair
- When: April 20-23
- Where: Sundance Square Plaza, Fort Worth
- Cost: Free admission
Coinciding with the Main Street Arts Festival, the Fort Worth Art Fair will have white tents set up for artist booths in Sundance Square Plaza along with musical performers during the day. Most artists will be local with some of the galleries including touring Texas artists.
Dallas Art Fair
- When: April 21-23
- Where: Fashion Industry Gallery, 1807 Ross Ave, Dallas
- Cost: $25 for one day general admission, $20 one day general admission for seniors and students, $55 for three day admission
The Dallas Art Fair consists of curated exhibitions to give collectors, arts professionals and visitors the chance to engage with modern and contemporary artworks from global and local galleries.
Music Alley Music & Arts Festival
When: April 29 Where: Historic Downtown Mansfield Cost: Free admission Mansfield’s Music Alley Music & Arts Festival features four stages of music and dance performances, vendors, interactive art, food and more.
Art in the Square
- When: April 28-30
- Where: Southlake Town Square, Southlake
- Cost: Free admission
The family-friendly event features over 150 juried and high school artists, with proceeds going back to 28 local organizations and programs. Live music and performances will be held on two stages near the square.
American Indian Art Festival
- When: April 28-29
- Where: Latino Cultural Center, 2600 Live Oak St., Dallas
- Cost: Free admission
The American Indian Art Festival is a cultural celebration showcasing Native American visual and performing artists. The festival will have art exhibits, music, dance, drumming, Native food and an Indian motorcycle raffle.
MAY ART EVENTS IN DFW
West Main Arts Festival
- When: May 6
- Where: West Main Street, Arlington
- Cost: Free admission
This year marks the seventh annual West Main Arts Festival which is held on three blocks of West Main Street in Arlington. The festival will have 70 artist and maker booths, 10 food trucks and 25 local bands and street performers.
The Other Art Fair
- When: May 11-14
- Where: Dallas Market Hall, 2200 N Stemmons Fwy., Dallas
Cost: $40 for opening night, $15 for one day general admission advanced purchase, $20 on-site pricing, free for ages 12 and under
The international art event The Other Art Fair returns to Dallas bringing 130 independent artists with immersive installations and performances along with DJs and a fully stocked bar.
