Josee Bienvenu Gallery opened its doors at 529 West 20th Street in Chelsea, New York, in 2004. Renowned for its meticulously curated program, the gallery focused on representing emerging and mid-career international artists, with a particular emphasis on Latin American conceptual art. In 2021, marking a significant move, the gallery relocated to the heart of Tribeca at 35 Walker Street. This transition also marked the inclusion of new partners, namely Michael Steinberg, founder of Eminence Grise editions, and Esra Joo. With these additions, the gallery underwent a name change to Bienvenu Steinberg & J.

Maintaining its commitment to showcasing a diverse spectrum of artistic voices, the gallery continues to feature established luminaries such as Marco Maggi, Sergio Sister, and Liliana Porter. Simultaneously, it remains dedicated to fostering emerging talents like Jane Yang-D’Haene and Peter Kim, alongside other noteworthy figures.
